Malawi Government under the Companies Act established Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Company Limited (SLWSC) in 2017 as a private limited company. SLWSC is responsible to provide oversight and guidance in the implementation of the Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Project, to manage operations and maintenance of the water supply system, and to develop and manage water resources for raw and potable bulk water supply to support the socio-economic development of Malawi.
Provision of Sustainable Raw and Potable Bulk Water Supply
We are implementing the Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Project to supply 100 million liters of water per day to utility companies; Lilongwe Water Board and Central Region Water Board, to increase water availability for Lilongwe City, Salima, and Dowa Districts for social-economic development and to strengthen the capacity of these districts to respond to adverse climatic conditions and ensure sustainability of water supply.
Our Core Team
A Board of Directors governs SLWSC. The CEO reports to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and is supported by the Director of Finance, the Director of Engineering, Division Heads, and other support Staff.
